Navigation and Avalanche training

The Morraines in a windy Corrie
Micheal and Kai at 1141

I was out with Micheal and Kai today in the Cairngorms, it was very much a winters day with plenty of snow being blown around in a strong wind. We carried out various navigation legs and practiced pacing and bearings. We also covered some avalanche tests in the various drifts that have built up.

Plenty of teams out on either skills courses in the Corrie or folks on routes. Teams where on many of the routes throughout the Corrie which looked in good condition. During the day though there was a noticeable rise in temperature making things feel a bit damp. Looks like tomorrow will see a rise in temperatures and some pretty wet and windy weather passing through.
